How do you feel about hiking alone?
By HikingOn | April 20, 2009
I'm thinking about hiking the Appalachian Trail, and I'd like to go alone. But I'm a bit considered about the safety of that. What do you think?
That's "concerned," not "considered." sorry!

It all depends on how experienced you are, which section you plan on travelling are you comfortable by yourself in the bush. There has been a rise in crime on the trail, especially near trail heads lately. I have not done the whole thing but would consider doing it alone. I enjoy the solitude and setting whatever pace I feel like. I would be well armed and more skeptical of strangers alone than with a partner.
