Have AdventureBuddies DVD, thought I knew how to use poles. Learned how to get more power, really save my knees and stop using the “Death Grip” – they know their stuff! Got DVD at REI, best $15 I ever spent.

The DVD is essential to learning how to use poles correctly. I also thought I knew how to use them, that it was intuitive. It isn’t. There is a range of very subtle skills that call for training the muscles to do things in a very precise way. Once such muscle memory is attained, you greatly improve your hiking efficiency and safeguard your joints. Thanks to Jayah for allowing the masses to have access to a wonderful tool!

Great introduction to poles. After several months practicing the techniques on the DVD, I finally feel like I am using the poles correctly.

I’ve taught people with Parkinson’s, MS, TKR, PF, PN, balance issues, etc. My suggestion is to get the DVD (available on my website: AdventureBuddies. NET). For $14.95 you can learn everything you need about using poles optimally. Then, after watching, feel free to contact me directly via my website and I’ll be happy to answer your specific questions. Happy Hiking and Good Luck!

For comprehensive instruction on all terrain, I recommend the award-winning DVD. Practice segments, learning progressions, drills, equipment, pole care. To really get the benefits: power, endurance, upper body strength, fat burning, USING YOUR MUSCLES TO PRESERVE YOUR JOINTS, you need to use them correctly. For about $15 you get it all :)

updated 2008, gorgeous scenery, made in USA, 1 hour 46 minutes of helpful info.
