What types of food should I take on a hiking trip? I’m looking for some good and light food to eat.?

My dad and I are going on a hiking trip with three other people to Olympic Nation park in Washington. And I just need to packing tips too.
And i don't want a heavy pack!!!!
Oh and its a three day trip.

GET MOUNTAIN HOUSE FREEZE DRIED FOOD. YOU CAN BUY THEM AT G.I. JOES. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE 20 PERCENT OFF. ALL YOU DO IS OPEN THE PACKAGE, TAKE OUT THE OXYGEN ABSORBER, POUR IN WHATEVER AMOUNT OF BOILING WATER, AND MY FRIEND, YOU HAVE THE EASIEST, TASTIEST, LIGHTEST BACKPACKING FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. 20 PERCENT OFF AT G.I. JOES. I BACKPACK ALOT AND THE OTHER DAY I BOUT 126.62 DOLLARS WORTH OF IT. THATS HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE IT. THEY MAKE BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, AND DESSERT PACKS.
