2004 Grand Canyon Hike into Lava Falls

On March 29, 2004 we hiked the 1.5 mile trail into Lava Falls, dropping about 2500 feet in elevation. At the river, a private party of kayakers and rafters ran the rapid. If you ran the rapid on this day, this could be you! The hike is strenuous and difficult. The trail is not always easily seen.
