Appalachian Trail Thru-Hike: The High Road in Hard Times

When Rick Perceval was laid off from his job in Kansas City, he decided to return home to New Zealand by an unusual route: a 2175 hike from Georgia to Maine along the Appalachian Trail. We caught up with him nearly 500 miles into his endeavor in Damascus, Virginia, where he says the simplicity of trail life has already given him a new perspective on difficult times.
