    How much money does it take to buy enough equipment and food for 1 person to hike the entire appalachian trail?

    im just going myself, only need to buy enough equipment and food for myself. Don't need top of the line stuff, but good enough…also if you could give me a short list of the basic equipment needs outside of tent, sleeping bag, basic stuff beyond the painfully obvious. and how long can i expect to hike the ENTIRE trail?

      How much money do you have? I have known folks to have done it in a few months and under for 10 dollars a day figuratively. It depends more on your equipment costs and if you could get someone to sponsor your trip even. Thru trekkers as they are called quite often can get family to support the trip and bring the food and supplies to drop off points for you. You can also mail packages to p.o.boxes along the route and pick them up along the way. Again there are many variables so good luck to you
