Carpentersville Illinois Fox River Trail Biking Hiking Path

The Fox River Trail is a paved bike path in Northern Illinois west of Chicago. On July 5, 2008 we began in Carpentersville at Otto Engineering on Main St. On the east bank, from just below the Carpentersville Dam, we went rollerblading and bicycling north on a 4.5 mile section of the trail. Cycling out of the forest and up onto a bluff, a clearing widens into a spectacular view. This is a good place for birdwatching; to see water birds and herons.
