I am getting back into hiking, where can I find good backpack reviews to help me get some equipment.?

backpacker.com has a fair amount of stuff to review. They also have a magazine that's pretty well done. Subscribe if you want, or try the local library–maybe they'll have it. They also do an annual "gear guide" review that gathers a lot of data on packs, tents, cooking equipment, footwear, etc. I think the gear guide is released around February/March timeframe… narrow down some of what you see and then seek out to try it on. Buying a newer pack with some assistance (to show the straps and ways to adjust everything, etc) really made a difference after I had been out of backpacking for 10 years.
